Shaw Carpet

The colorful history of carpets dates way back 6000 B.C. and have still continued to flourish today despite the emergence of other equally efficient flooring materials in the market. This is largely due to the fact that carpets have continually evolved and kept apace with the ever-changing demands of both residential and commercial applications while still offering the unrivaled warmth and you can only expect from carpets. However, despite its unprecedented popularity, the carpet industry has also experienced several huge blows and steep decline in demand that prompted its development and enhancements throughout the decades.

The buyout craze in 1980’s in particular have especially made a mark and change the course of the carpet history forever. At that time, over 80% of the leading carpet manufacturers in the industry were practically rendered insolvent and only left 12 key producers in the market. Among the surviving companies is Shaw Carpets that have resolutely clung to its key position as one of the major manufacturers of premium quality carpets. That period could aptly described as the cunning display and the classic example of Darwin concept of the survival of the fittest. Having endured the economic upheaval is definitely no small feat, and this earned Shaw an impeccable reputation over the years.

However, survival is not the only thing Shaw can take credit for at that time. The company was actually the influential force that contributed to the impressive turnabout and improvement of the carpet industry distribution channel. Back then, there were only a handful of selected distributors of carpet, which allowed these mercenary retailers to enjoy such high profit margins and ultimately resulted to expensive carpets that consumers have to contend with. Shaw was the first company who sought to correct such imbalance and endeavored to the expansion of the distribution channels that later sparked some competitions that finally forced the retailers to lower down their sticker prices. This further allowed average earners to enjoy the lush comfort of carpet flooring without the unreasonable costs that came with it.

Of course, playing a major hand in this advancement and progress of carpets in the consumer markets didn’t go unnoticed. In fact, up until today, Shaw carpet systems are still reputed to be among the few manufacturers that offer low cost carpets but with unquestionable quality. This was achieved through mass production and lower overhead expense, which allowed Shaw to offer cheaper than average carpets without compromising its quality. The manufacturing company would fill yarn on the tufting machine and run similar styles and patterns for several weeks. This prompted other companies to compete with the significantly lowered process of Shaw and consequently resulted to the prevalence of carpet flooring systems in also every American home. Such produced rapid popularity and expansion of Shaw carpets, which now has 70 manufacturing plants that are strategically located in over 32 different areas across 7 states.

Recently, Shaw also expanded its product line and offers other home improvement products such as Shaw Laminates, Tuftex, Hardwoods, Trust marks and Shaw Marks. However, despite the product extension, the brand still intrinsically carries with it the reputation of being one of the most popular producers of quality carpets for several decades. Among the contemporary favorites are the Shaw carpet tile systems that offer residential owners who are on a shoestring budget considerably cheaper alternative to broadloom carpets.

Not one to complacently rest on its laurels, Shaw carpets still continue to retain its leadership in the industry through constant innovation and unremitting commitment to cheap but quality carpets for both residential and commercial markets. So if you are seriously contemplating on getting a new flooring systems, it is definitely a comforting thought that you will be investing your money on quality products backed with years of expertise. Let experience speak for itself.
